May 14, 2024 – (Regina, SK) – The Hebert Group, the parent company of Hebert Grain Ventures, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Economic Development Regina and the Community Builders Alliance to grow Saskatchewan’s biomass industry. The agreement is a collaborative initiative which combines efforts to grow a biomass cluster in the Greater Regina area.

The Cluster is expected to generate as much as $1.8 billion in economic activity by 2027.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the CBA and Economic Development Regina aims to identify and advance key opportunities for value-added agriculture in the Greater Regina Area and southeast Saskatchewan.

The Moosomin area will receive direct and indirect benefits from this economic cooperation and collaboration.

“Agriculture has immense opportunities ahead in both production and value-added agriculture. To fully capture this potential collaboration is an essential ingredient. The Hebert Group and the Community Builders Alliance look forward to working together with EDR to identify key opportunities in southeast Saskatchewan and the GRA. These opportunities create projects that translate into increased investment, job creation and community services – all things that help our cities and rural communities, such as Moosomin, thrive,” says Kristjan Hebert, President of the Hebert Group.
